The Mistake -Elle Kennedy

We met the Briar U boys and we met Hannah. Logan who is Garret’s undisputed best friend deserves some love as well. But who is John Logal actually? I mean we don’t know much about him yet but in this book we’ll find out.

The book in short
He’s a player in more ways than one… College junior John Logan can get any girl he wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of parties and hook-ups, but behind his killer grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing despair about the dead-end road he’ll be forced to walk after graduation. A sexy encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just the distraction he needs, but when a thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan plans to spend his final year proving to her that he’s worth a second chance. Now he’s going to need to up his game… After a less-than-stellar freshman year, Grace is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly handed her V-card to. She’s not a charity case, and she’s not the quiet butterfly she was when they first hooked up. If Logan expects her to roll over and beg like all his other puck bunnies, he can think again. He wants her back? He’ll have to work for it. This time around, she’ll be the one in the driver’s seat…and she plans on driving him wild.

My thoughts
John Logan was a bit of an ass don’t get me wrong but I do feel his behaviour isn’t that much out of character for ‘college boys’. I went back and forth by liking Grace, she was great don’t get me wrong but I didn’t click with her the same I did with the other girls in the series.

I think the family dynamic that Logan deals with is interesting. I did feel that his mother as well as Grace’s were described much more favourably then I felt knowing their behaviour. Even if especially Logan wasn’t always honest with his mother, he was for most of that storyline a child and she should have noticed and cared enough. I found that frustrating a bit.

I thought that Grace and her friend’s falling out was described really well and felt very true to an event that could actually happen. They were not my favourite couple but I thought their story was fun and interesting to read.
