Heartstopper Season 2 (2023)
I was so excited when this season came out but when it did come out it I didn’t have time and then I didn’t watch it. It was the first season all over again. Maybe it has to do with the fact that if you have seen it, that’s it. Its done and that is sad enough already. You can read my review of the first season, here.
The series in short
Teens Charlie and Nick discover their unlikely friendship might be something more as they navigate school and young love in this coming-of-age series. The show contains 8 episodes of roughly 30 minutes each.

My thoughts
I loved it the way I loved season 1. The story takes place right after the last episode of the first season as Nick comes out to his mum then, in the first episode he tells Charlie about this.
I think this show is very nice for young people who struggle with their sexuality and coming out. I can see it being very inspiring to see your own struggles on the screen. It is so upsetting that Charlie feels he has to make the world perfect for Nick, this isn’t healthy. The character in the show are aware of this not being healthy which I do think sends a good message.
I love the Elle and Tao storyline it’s so very cute, I found their journey to be one of the best. It really hits home how difficult it is to go from friends to more. It’s a bit awkward at first but can be really great. I feel for Imogen in this season, I think she is just such a good character and I want her to find love as well.
The teacher Mr. Farouk was my favourite this season, I had a great laugh at the character. We have all had a teacher like that who can silence the whole year group easily. I do think it’s a bit unrealistic that we only see two teachers on this international trip when with a big group like that you would expect more adults to be present. You would at least expect two female teachers, as male teachers shouldn’t be allowed in the girl’s rooms.
I adored the Paris trip, it was so fun to watch and brought back memories of old school trips I went on in school. I liked that we saw more of the people surrounding our main cast such as the parents. It feels very genuine that way. I think Tao’s mum is my favourite parent character, she is so genuine in her excitement for her son it makes me smile every time she is on screen. Nick’s mum is still the queen of the show though, everyone deserves a mum like her.
This season was incredible and I really recommend that you give it a watch if you think it’s intresting.
