Charlie’s Angels (2019)
When this film came out, I wasn’t interested to see it. I am not sure why I wasn’t in the mood for it at all. I am not sure why but I simply didn’t think about this film until I saw it on Netflix. I have read online that it flopped, I think this is because people know of it but don’t know enough. I think people who used to watch the older Charlie’s Angels and liked it wouldn’t necessarily like this one as it is a bit different. Others who gave that one a miss might not try this one.
What is the series about?
When a young systems engineer blows the whistle on a dangerous technology, Charlie’s Angels are called into action, putting their lives on the line to protect us all. I got this information here.

What did I think?
First and foremost I like Elizabeth Banks, I think she is great. The film was enjoyable. I did find that the leading up took a while and when the big reveal happened it went fast. Which means the pacing was a bit weird for me. In a film, it can be interesting to have some confusion about who to believe and who the good guys or bad guys are. In this film, it was pretty clear from the start. Then there was a really small and short confusion which was not really that confusing and then we went right back to what we thought all along.
This could have just not been there and it wouldn’t have made the movie any worse. If you want to add a confusing element. Do so, but this truly wasn’t the way. For me, sound carries a film. Shots where nothing happens can be dull. I enjoyed the music that was chosen for the film, it fit the film perfectly. The ending was a bit strange too, I would have liked it better if we could have seen more about what it takes to become an angel. That would have been interesting.
I feel that this is one of those films that’s easy to watch with just really anyone when you don’t know what you want to watch. Maybe I am just the least critical moviegoer of all time. Some of the jokes fell flat or weren’t supposed to be funny. I do recommend it if you stumble upon it on Netflix.
