The Legacy – Elle Kennedy
Sometimes you want a book to have one more chapter, to learn what else they have been doing. This is one such book. It brings you back to the couples you have fallen in love with over the last four books. We look into their lives when they have all finished school and are living adults. We see them in a different light than we have before. What have they been up to? How are they doing today and most importantly did they stand the test of time?
The book in short
A wedding.
A proposal.
An elopement.
And a surprise pregnancy.
Can you guess which couple is which?

My thoughts
I was a bit disappointed with this book, it was fun don’t get me wrong but it felt as if everyone was the same person instead of the distinct characters I knew them as. I think it was a fun way to revisit these characters but I don’t think it was fun enough to justify the price. Maybe the time between this book and the other four was too long for me but I didn’t feel satisfied after reading the stories at all. They were alright but they weren’t as great as the other books felt.
I didn’t love Garret and Hannah’s story at all, I cannot really put my foot on why but I didn’t enjoy them much in this. Which was sad as I enjoyed them in the other stories. I did really like the Tucker and Sabrina’s story and I felt they were the most true to character.
The stories didn’t feel much as if the characters wanted to marry or start of family because it was the right time for them. It felt more like it just happened to them. Whereas all of their relationships felt very much intentional. It also didn’t feel as if they really matured over the years we didn’t see them at all. If you read the whole series you might as well read this one too but if you aren’t sure if you would enjoy this one you can easily give it a miss.
I do think the author is a great one and I would like to read more of their work but I think I’ll leave the BriarU universe where it is.
