Young Royals Season 3 (2021-2024)

Here we are with the review of the last season of Young Royals. This series has been a blast to watch. It lasted the right amount of time and was wonderful to watch. But did season 3 live up to Season 1 and Season 2?

The show in short
(Fake) Prince Wilhelm of Sweden is still living at the prestigious boarding school of last season. This season Wilhelm decides what is most important his title or his own life. The first season has 6 episodes with a runtime of between 40 and 50 minutes.
I got some of the information here.

My thoughts
I felt the series ended the way it began and I am a bit gutted about it. I loved the series. I thought the cast was amazing, I did like that Wille stayed true to himself but I personally didn’t love the ending. Nothing worse could have happened to this fictitious Sweden than having August in the line of succession. I think the series could have gone through so much more but in the end, nothing came out of left field or anything. It simply wasn’t the ending I had been rooting for.

I also felt that Wille and Simon didn’t get any support whatsoever from the crown which would obviously make it difficult to move in the landscape of royal life. Thus the ending fit well with that but to me it seemed so avoidable. I was rooting for the royals in this show I suppose. Objectively it was a great show, it was a wonderful ending. It very much felt like those 90’s, and 2000’s romance films that were amazing. It might have been that I had such high hopes that it felt a bit flat for me. I do think the series ended at the right time.

It was lovely I immensely enjoyed the first two seasons and it was a good ending to a loved show. I do recommend watching it.
